The pandemic has not affected the disruptive core of FIAP University Center, which once again showed its passion for innovation, creating a new evaluation model, the N2020.

The challenge for the 4th year mechatronics engineering students was the Safety Autonomous Collector. The objectives were to create a solution to mitigate the problems caused by COVID-19 and improve our knowledge for the development of our project in partnership with Braskem: An autonomous vehicle.

We created the Leafate, an autonomous wastebasket service that independently takes the waste to an internal center developed by us. In it, there is a separation of trash made by computer vision and sensors. Then, the garbage is forward to our treatment center, where we do the necessary treatment for each type of waste, all connected with the latest technologies.

Our team was the first place winner of the competition.
